11.0 Inspection, Measuring and Test Equipment

11.1 General

11.1 Active measuring or test equipment used for in-process and final acceptance are calibrated to standards traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Tests.

11.1 Control Procedure

11.2.1 Calibration is performed by Quality Assurance personnel per CALIBSOP-200 "Calibration Procedures" at regularly-scheduled intervals identified on CALIB-2001.

11.2.2 Data is recorded on the Calibration Data Form (CALIB-2002) as required per the procedure.

11.2.3 When necessary, outside sources are used to calibrate items which XYZ Company is not equipped to calibrate.

11.2.4 Completed calibration forms are maintained in Quality Assurance and identify each measuring and test item, frequency of calibration, calibration date, and inspector's initials. Record retention is a minimum of 2 years.

11.2.5 Each instrument calibrated by XYZ Company is labeled using a calibration sticker, CALIB-2003, with calibrator's initials and due date per CALIBSOP-200 and are handled, maintained and stored to preserve its fitness for use.

11.2.6 When an instrument is found to be out of specification, form CALIB-2004 is to be completed and submitted to the Quality Manager for disposition.
